Extract Questions for Macbeth

Below are a series of extracts and questions for Macbeth. A lot of the extracts here are longer than the ones you’ll get in the exam, but they are taken from throughout the play and going over them will be a useful reminder of what happened.

For each extract you should be able to:

  • Answer the question in a few sentences, by referring to the whole narrative of the play
  • Find three or four key quotes from the extract that you’ll analyse
  • Choose which three or four key moments or ideas from the rest of the play you’ll refer to

 

ACT 1 SCENE 1: CELEBRATING MACBETH
